Emergency Hotline: 1.800.400.4271

24 hours a day / 7 days a week

What is an Emergency?

Gas leaks, an odor of gas, damaged lines, and carbon monoxide symptoms are all considered emergencies. If you have an emergency, call our emergency hotline at 1-800-400-4271 . Our personnel are ready to assist you 24/7. When in doubt, call us immediately.

If you smell gas, do not attempt to locate the leak. Instead, leave the house or building right away. Do not turn on or off any electrical switches, appliances, or lights, as an electrical charge could create a spark. When you are in a safe place, call the Peoples emergency hotline.

At Peoples, we believe in "walking the walk" when it comes to protecting our environment. That's why our employees are so involved with volunteer opportunities with organizations like the Pittsburgh Zoo!

We at Peoples are always striving to better the community we serve, and what better way to do so than through conservation? That’s why we’ve partnered with the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium for "Destination Conservation," a social media initiative that focuses on the animal and environmental conservation efforts in Pittsburgh and beyond.

Through this series, we hope to highlight the great work of conservationists in the Pittsburgh community, such as the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium’s recent efforts to rescue stranded manatees or the work of the PPG Conservation and Sustainability Fund, while also spotlighting conservation efforts out in the global community as well.

The “Destination Conservation” project kicked off on "Wild Earth Day" with a series of Facebook Live videos. (Be sure to like us on Facebook to follow along!) As part of the partnership, we’ll be going onsite throughout the year to interview conservationists and observe conservation efforts firsthand. Every month, we’ll be releasing a new video, talking everything from manatee rehabilitation and gorilla protection to coral conservation and bio fuels—and we hope you’ll follow along!

We believe there’s nothing more important than preserving our beautiful Earth and the plants and animals that inhabit it. Be sure to like @peoplesnatgas and the @pghzoo on Facebook to see monthly content from “Destination Conservation.” We hope you’ll join us for this educational and inspirational journey as we unpack the ongoing conservation efforts both here and across the globe.
