Strengthening the Region with Leadership Pittsburgh

Leadership Pittsburgh is an independent non-profit organization whose goal is “to strengthen regional leadership through programs, partnerships, and connections.” Founded in 1985, it is now regarded as the leading resource for community leadership in Southwest Pennsylvania. On March 10^th, we will be sponsoring their Annual Informational Luncheon. It is free and open to all, and will provide information on their programs for established and emerging leaders.

Leadership Pittsburgh’s initiatives aim to equip local community leaders with the knowledge, skills, and inspiration to make our region a better place to live and work. Participants not only gain a deep, behind-the-scenes understanding of the Pittsburgh area, but also join a network of over 2,000 fellow community leaders who are committed to making real change happen. Each Leadership Pittsburgh class partners with local nonprofit organizations to identify, develop, and execute critical projects. Recent projects include:

• assisting Arsenal Family and Children’s Center to more effectively market their programs, as well as conducting high-level financial assessment

• working with the Women’s Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh to create a digital catalogue of WCS child resources, to provide better access for residents

• helping the Providence Connections Family Support Center to plan and execute the “21 Day Family Fun and Engagement Challenge,” in an effort to increase engagement with the Center

Between these extensive volunteer projects and the incredible training that Leadership Pittsburgh provides for community leaders—including a new program designed specifically for local veterans—it’s no wonder why we are so thrilled to support the work that they do throughout the region. Their emphasis on community impact mirrors our own commitment to helping the local communities we serve. By sponsoring their Annual Information Luncheon, we hope to help bring even more prospective partners to the table.
