Inspired by the original German Christkindlmarkts (or "Christmas Market"), the Peoples Gas Holiday Market™ brings a cherished European tradition to Pittsburgh with an international flair, a touch of local charm, and a pinch of sugar, spice, and everything nice. Drop on by Market Square in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh to see for yourself! As you weave through the Alpine-style wooden chalets, brimming with high quality gifts, you'll experience a one-of-a-kind holiday shopping experience.

Peoples is giving away limited-edition souvenir ornaments with a suggested donation to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. Ornaments will be available at the Holiday Market on the Grand Opening Night, Friday, November 22, while supplies last and the Food Bank booth is staffed. 

Whether you come downtown to skate around the ice rink, or visit Pittsburgh's Creche (the world's only approved replica of the Vatican's Nativity Scene) at the U.S. Steel Tower, your visit won't be complete without a stroll through the Peoples Gas Holiday Market™.

We love to see this city come alive with the bustle of the holidays, and we want you all to be a part of it.   • Indoor Kidsplay Activities!

    Just across the street from the Selfie Garden, you'll find a variety of indoor Holiday KidsPlay activities presented in partnership with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Fred Rogers Productions.  Decorate a Mister Rogers sweater ornament with messages of thanks, make your own pickle ornament, visit with the Pittsburgh Pirates mascots, play giant games, and settle in for story time, plus a range of hands-on activities offer creative playtime and a chance to warm up this holiday season.  

    Time: 11am every weekend through December 23rd (including Black Friday)

    Where: Indoors at 6th street and Liberty Avenue (Across from Santa's House in Heinz Hall Courtyard)

  • Santa's House

    Bring the kiddos and their wish lists to visit Santa, as he returns to his cozy house in Heinz Hall Courtyard, thanks to BNY Mellon! Once again, families have the wonderful option for their young ones to visit with either a Black or White Santa. Just let Santa's helpers know which you prefer.

    Help our neighbors in need this holiday season with a $10 suggested donation to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and recieve a free photo of your visit with Santa in a keepsake frame as well as a downloadable file to share with friends and family.
